October trip to Gallipolis

What better time to take a road trip through southern Ohio as the leaves and temperature begin to fall?  I recall taking a trip to Bob Evans Farm and Rio Grande when I was a young kid with my parents and thought this would be the perfect time to return.

So along with my lovely navigator we made our way east on Interstate 35.  Along the way we stopped at all the "Remarkable Ohio" signs we could find, Merry Family Winery, "Our House", Bob Evans Farm, University of Rio Grande, Mound Hill Cemetery (over staying our welcome and getting locked in during the process) and of course beautiful downtown Gallipolis on the Ohio river.  We also swung by Point Pleasant West Virginia to check out the monument of the Battle of Point Pleasant in Tu-Endie-Wei State Park and of course to check out the Mothman statue! On our return, we made sure to stop and visit "Buckeye Furnace" and "Leo Petroglyph".

On Sunday we took a short trip to Friendship, Indiana, going West on 275 to visit the NMLRA camp grounds.  After a short visit we got back on our way stopping at the Harrison Tomb in North Bend, Ohio.

Stay tuned for our trip next weekend which will take us to the Circleville Pumpkin Show and a whole lot more!
